Downtown Durham Skate Park

Summer and skateboards… two things that go hand in hand in my experience. I visited the downtown Durham skate park recently and enjoyed watching the skaters performing their tricks on the various ramps and stairs. I asked one of the skaters what was most distinctive about the skateboard experience. He suggested that it wasn’t just the tricks they performed, but the way the skaters would hang out together taking turns and learning from each other. As I watched, I saw what he meant… skaters of all ages and colors united in fellowship by their love for the sport.
