Mom’s Azaleas
May 20, 2021
For Mother’s Day this year I painted my mom’s favorite view of her azaleas out her kitchen window. By the time Mother’s Day rolled around the azaleas had faded so it was a nice reminder of their beauty.
I normally tend to focus on azaleas en masse when they are in bloom. When I paint I pay much more attention to the details of my subject. In the case of the azaleas my appreciation was refreshed for their delicate lines and subtle color variations. It’s a good reminder for me look closer and see the rich beauty that surrounds us!
